Use this calculation program to get a very approximate idea of the equivalent sound level
produced by the machines on a sensitive spot. You can fill in the
LWA-level found in the equipment noise levels database, press the calculate button
and you will have the sound level on the preset 25 meters distance. This is, of course, a
LAeq sound level when the machine is operating. The default is for 8 hour
functioning over an 8 hr working period. If this is to be different, fill in the time the
machine operates in the required time, eg 4 hour in a 12 hour working day.
If you
have to do so, depends of course on local regulations, which may require an LAeq over a
time period not te be exceeded, or an absolute maximum. If you are interested, have a
look at the Dutch regulations for construction noise.
Change the other settings to suit your case.
If you leave the L WA-box blank and fill in the required sound level
AND the expected distance between machine and dwelling, the
LWA-level is calculated, so you can go and buy a machine the fulfills
this demand.
