Calculations with sound power level for industrial areas

Use this calculation program to get a very approximate idea of the equivalent sound level produced by industry at a certain distance. You can choose a sound power from the list, press the calculate button and you will have an average sound level on the preset 50 meters distance. This is, of course, a LAeq sound level when the industry is operational. The default is for 8 hour functioning over an 16 hr day period. If this is to be different, fill in the time the machines operates in the required time, eg 4 hour in a 12 hour working day.
If you have to do so, depends of course on local regulations, which may require an LAeq over a time period not te be exceeded, or an absolute maximum. Change the other settings to suit your case.

Heigth of source (meter)
Horizontal distance between source and receiver (meter)
Fraction sound absorbing soil (0=all reflecting(sand, concrete, water); 1= all absorbing(arable land, forest floor)
Heigth of house or observer (meter)
